What Is Baptism?

  • A step of obedience to Jesus (Matthew 28:19–20)
  • A public declaration of a personal decision (Romans 10:9–10)
  • A symbol of dying to the old life and rising with Christ (Romans 6:3–4)
  • A celebration of new life in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Baptism Is About…

1. Surrender to the Spirit of Christ

Baptism represents letting go of control and giving your life fully to Jesus.

Galatians 2:20

2. Submission to the Ways of Christ

We follow Jesus into the water just as He followed the Father in obedience.

Matthew 3:13–17; Luke 9:23

3. Connection to the Body of Christ

Baptism isn’t just personal—it connects you to God’s family.

1 Corinthians 12:13; Acts 2:41–42

Baptism isn’t just washing away the past.
It’s saying, “I’m not going back.”

Common Questions

Is baptism what saves me?

No. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus. Baptism is your response of obedience and worship.

Ephesians 2:8–9; Acts 2:38

What about Spirit baptism?

Water baptism is your public declaration. Spirit baptism empowers you to live the Christian life.

Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1–4

Do I need to be baptized again?

If you were baptized before personally choosing to follow Jesus, we invite you to take this step as your own decision.

Acts 8:36–38

Ready to Be Baptized?

If you can say yes to these:

  • I've repented of my sin (Acts 3:19)
  • I Believe in Jesus as Savior and Lord (Romans 10:9)
  • I desire to follow Him in everything (Luke 9:23)
