Pastor’s Corner

The Way of Jesus

One thing I’ve been noticing as we go through the Red Letter Challenge together is that the words of Jesus often turn our normal way of thinking upside down.

The world teaches us that success looks like climbing higher, gaining influence, and being served by others.

But Jesus shows us a completely different way.

There’s a moment in the Gospels when the disciples are arguing about who among them is the greatest. Who matters the most. Who has the highest place.

Instead of correcting them with a lecture, Jesus gives them a picture they would never forget.

He kneels down and washes their feet.

The King becomes the servant.

And in that moment Jesus shows us something important: in God’s kingdom, greatness looks different. The people who make the biggest impact are often the ones quietly serving others.

That’s what we’ll be talking about this Sunday as we continue Week 4 of the Red Letter Challenge: Serve.

We’ll look at why serving isn’t just something Christians occasionally do. It’s actually one of the clearest ways the heart of Jesus shows up in our everyday lives.

And this is especially important as we move closer to Easter.

Events like Easterfest aren’t just things on the calendar. They’re opportunities for us to love our community and create space for people to encounter Jesus.

So this week, I want to encourage you to start thinking about two simple things:

Who might God be asking you to serve?

And who might God be asking you to invite?

I’m looking forward to seeing you this Sunday as we keep walking through the words of Jesus together.
