Every December, I feel the pull — the busyness, the noise, the pressure to make everything “just right.” And if I’m honest, those things can so easily crowd out the very One Christmas is all about. This year, more than ever, I feel the Lord calling me to slow down, to set aside some of the distractions, and to refocus my heart on the one thing that truly matters: finding Jesus right where we are.

As I’ve been preparing for our Christmas series, When God Comes Near, something has gripped me deeply. The Christmas story isn’t about perfect circumstances, magical moments, or life suddenly going the way we hoped. It’s about a God who steps into the middle of real life — into stress, mess, pressure, and humble places — and brings His presence right there.

Jesus didn’t wait for the world to get ready.
He didn’t wait for Mary and Joseph to have the right accommodations.
He didn’t wait for the shepherds to be anything more than tired workers doing an ordinary job.

He came for the most common people, and He still comes for the most common parts of us.

And the incredible truth is this:
No matter where you are on the journey of your life…
No matter what circumstances you’re carrying into this season…
God has a calling and purpose for your life that is far bigger than what you can imagine.

He wants to draw you closer than you’ve ever been.
He wants to shine through you like a star in the night — bringing hope, peace, and the presence of Jesus to a world that desperately needs it.

This December, I want to invite you to take this journey with me.
Let’s walk through Luke 2 together — slowly, thoughtfully, prayerfully — and rediscover the wonder of the God who comes near. My hope is that you won’t just hear the Christmas story… but that you’ll experience it, and meet Jesus in a fresh, personal, life-shaping way.

Let’s take this journey together.
December 7, 14, 21 & Christmas Eve — 10:30 AM at Lighthouse.
I can’t wait to walk through this season with you.
